Our teachers are among the best in the world. Their patient approach and skilled techniques make the Santa Rosa class one of the best in the area.

Ron Wallace

Ron is an internationally renowned teacher and deviser of Scottish dance. He teaches Country, Highland, and Step Dance to students of all ages in the San Francisco Bay Area and travels extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, where he leads workshops and judges competitions. His dancers perform at local festivals and events, as well as international dance festivals in the U.S. and Europe.

Ron's teaching credentials have been received from the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance, British Association of Teachers of Dance, and the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance. He has also been granted Examiner status by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

Ron is also an accomplished performer of bagpipe, with many years of experience as an award-winning Pipe Major and as a teacher of bagpipe to students in his North Bay studio. His expertise and life-long passion for the history, music, and dance of Scotland inspire and inform students, dancers and audiences alike.

Gary Thomas

Gary is an experienced musician and teacher of Scottish dance with a background in theater and a special interest in dance history. He performs and teaches period and vintage dances from Scotland and other countries.

Hood, Wink & Swagger

We are very fortunate to have Hood, Wink & Swagger play for us at most of our special events. Hood, Wink & Swagger is comprised of Steve Wyrick on fiddle, Gary Thomas on piano, Mara McLeester on Bass, and Ron Wallace on recorder.
